About me

I began my costume and millinery career in Melbourne, studying costume construction at Swinburne University, and millinery at the Melbourne School of Fashion. In 2006 I moved to London, and a little after that began working for hat designer Philip Treacy.

Since 2013 I have lived in Nottingham, UK, and work as a freelance theatrical milliner and costume maker. I make predominantly for theatre, but also enjoy the odd film or television project.

I have given millinery workshops in the studio of Louise Macdonald in Melbourne, and also been guest tutor in the studios of Jane Stoddart (Sydney) and Sandy Aslett (Queensland). In 2016 I was delighted to teach a class in the workshop of David Dunkley in Toronto, Canada.

I always have several projects/jobs on the go, but a big part of my time is taken up with researching period hats and headwear and making reproductions, or 'vintage inspired' pieces. I have a wonderful collection of vintage textiles and haberdashery which enables me to create some really exciting pieces - and I have a hard time letting them go!
